My grandfather went to look at a new car and noticed that all of the cars were locked.  He could not even look inside of them.  He thought that the dealership was closed so he went to another one.  There, he found the vehicles locked as well.  This time, there was a salesman to greet him.  He explained that Car Dealers have to keep them locked so that they can keep control over them.  Leaving them unlocked was an invitation to vandals.  Besides, having a sales person unlock the car gave the customer an opportunity to ask questions about the cars they were looking at
