Last year after my surgery I was in the hospital for three days to rest before going home. The stay there was really a bit like a vacation for me. I did not have to take care of anyone , not even myself. I did not even have to get up out of bed to use the bathroom since they had me hooked up to a urinary catheter which kept me able to stay in bed and not awakened in the night. The only thing that ever interrupted my sleep was those middle of the night checks of my temperature and pulse. It was a vacation with many interruptions but still a break from the usual routine.
