Qualification to Become a Registered Medical Assistant

Prerequisites can differ depending on where you are working. However, most of these places are requiring almost the same prerequisites from those dreaming to become a Registered Medical Assistant. Some of these requirements are the applicant must have completed a medical assistant program which are accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP); the applicant must have completed programs in a post-secondary college which is accredited by a Regional Accrediting Commission that is authorized by the U.S. Department of Education; and must have attended a formal medical services training program together with a working experience.
