If you want to burn fat there are a few things you need to keep in mind. First, spending hours per week doing cardio is a waste of time. Study upon study (and now more and more fitness programs) are touting the fat loss benefits of short, intense interval training cardio sessions. No need to spend 1 hour running when you can burn more fat in 20 minutes, right? Second, spending more time strengthening your muscles will greatly assist your fat loss pursuit. The reason is that the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn. Muscle increases your metabolism and that’s a good thing for long term fat loss.
