the different types of Pelican Kayaks

December 16th, 2009 by admin

Do you want to lie back and float down a lazy river? Would you rather shoot the rapids? Either way, nothing is better than a kayak. The trouble is that brand-new kayaks can be very expensive. If you’re trying to buy a kayak but are discouraged by the high prices, why not opt to buy a used one instead? IN many instances, a used kayak is just as good as, if not a little better than, a new one, especially if you don’t need to race or perform fancy tricks. But if you want to buy a used kayak, you must remember to thoroughly inspect it and be sure it’s in good condition. If you haven’t actually found one to inspect up close, you might want to set your budget and conduct online research. Next, decide on what sort of kayak you want. There are three main varieties – rigid, inflatable and folding kayaks. Inflatable and folding kayaks are very easy to store and transport, but rigid ones are the most durable. They come in a variety of different models like fiberglass, plastic, wood or Kevlar. Plastic models are tough and long-lasting, while fiberglass ones are lightweight but more expensive. Wooden kayaks come in a kit that you have to assemble yourself, but they are probably the most beautiful of all the different types of Pelican Kayaks.
